Pedro Martinez mowed down 13 Metropolis batters and second baseman Billy
Herman had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Chicago Bombers clobbered the outmatched
Metropolis Supermen, 12 to 2.

Herman was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He blasted a solo shot (his 5th of the
season) in the 1st inning, doubled in the 4th inning, singled plating a run
in the 6th inning and doubled knocking in a run in the 7th inning. The
Chicago offense man-handled the Metropolis pitching staff as they scored in 7
of the 9 innings.

The victory was credited to Martinez(21-6) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Sonny Siebert(5-10) suffered the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in
6 and 2/3 innings.

‘He was really impressive today,’ Siebert said of his counterpart. ‘Our guys
were just swinging at air.’

2010 Season

Sandals beat Warriors behind Roy Halladay’s 13 K’s

Andres Torres had 2 base hits and Roy Halladay allowed just 3 hits as the
Recycled Sandals defeated the Walker Lake Warriors 3 to 2 at Target Field

Halladay(13-17) was virtually untouchable. He surrendered only 3 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings. Halladay chalked up 13 strikeouts. Recycled managed 10
hits in their victory.

Felix Hernandez(10-10) was given the loss. He was knocked around by Recycled,
allowing 10 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Halladay was jubilant in
the hometown clubhouse, ‘It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a
lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I’ll sure take 13
strikeouts anytime!’

Brad Radke fires shutout in 1-0 Buteras win

Brad Radke pitched a complete game shutout as the Buffalo Buteras defeated the
Helz Angels by a score of 1 to 0 at Kauffman Stadium

Radke(7-16) was very good in the win. He allowed only 5 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings. Buffalo managed only 6 hits on the afternoon.

Jim Corsi(1-5) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk
in 1 and 1/3 innings.

2007 Season

Ronny Cedeno blasts 2 home runs in 7-6 victory over For Now 7

Ronny Cedeno cracked 2 home runs and had 4 RBI at Coors Field as the
Blazing Saddles came back dramatically to top the Bye For Now 7 by the score
of 7 to 6.

Blazing had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs
using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Alex Gonzalez initiated the scoring
spurt when he laced a one-base hit. Cedeno came to the plate and popped a
two-run clout over the fence (his 4th of the season). Pat Burrell then lined
a single. One out later, Andre Ethier came up and he drew a walk. Jonathan
Papelbon then let a pitch get away from him. Carlos Pena kept the inning
going and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Melvin Mora was next
and he drew a walk giving Blazing the win and sending the home town fans into
a frenzy. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as
the lead kept changing – 6 times in all.

The victory went to Chad Cordero(1-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Papelbon(2-2) took the loss in relief. Oldfart Lingers was all smiles
after the ballgame, ‘It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but
our guys never gave up – and neither did our fans – they kept cheering us on.
What a sweet win!’

complete game at Petco Park as the Cape Cod Mooncussers belted the The
Black Watch Direwolves by the count of 15 to 1.

Curt Flood enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He tripled scoring two
baserunners in the 1st inning, doubled bringing in a run in the 4th inning
and doubled which plated a run in the 7th inning. Cape Cod bats were very
productive in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 4th
inning with 8 runs on 5 hits. Cape Cod finished with 15 hits in the victory.

The victory was credited to Cicotte(20-10) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. Dixie Davis(11-15) was charged with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 8 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

2010 Season

Jered Weaver grabs 20th win in 4-2 victory over Wobblies

Neil Walker connected with a ‘big fly’ and Jered Weaver tossed a complete game
as the Isla Morada Cudas outscored the Portland Wobblies 4 to 2.

Isla Morada had 2 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning. The key offensive
moment was provided by David Dejesus, who silenced the stadium when he
doubled plating two runs. Portland had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.

The winning pitcher was Weaver(20-11) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Manny
Delcarmen(2-2) was tagged with the loss in relief.

Matt Nokes homers twice in 4-2 victory over Stoners

Matt Nokes slammed 2 home runs and Mike Hampton delivered 5 solid innings as
the Dinah Moe Hums topped the Centerville Stoners by a score of 4 to 2 at
Riverfront Stdm

Nokes had a good day at the plate. He doubled in the 4th inning, delivered a
solo blast in the 6th inning and cracked a solo homerun (his 13th of the
season) in the 7th inning. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel
until the 6th inning.

Jim Gott(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Dan Plesac recorded his 26th save. Dave Righetti(1-2)
ended up with the loss in relief.

2007 Season

Brandon Webb grabs 20th win in 10-3 victory over BEES

Prince Fielder jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the strong
Remember The Alamo topped the BOSTON BEES by a score of 10 to 3 at AT&T Park

Remember had 5 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning with the
help of 5 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Remember had 17
hits for the game and BOSTON had 9.

Brandon Webb(20-8) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Brian
Bannister(10-11) suffered the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering
5 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

The Remember ballclub’s record now stands at 80-54. With the loss BOSTON now
has a record of 64-70.

Bret Saberhagen(14-11) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win.
Steve Blass(7-8) ended up with the loss. ‘It’s almost like the ball was
trying to hit my bat,’ Kiner said. ‘Whenever I would swing, the ball found
the sweet spot.’

2010 Season

Joey Votto hits 3 home runs in 17-13 victory over Daddy

First baseman Joey Votto launched 3 home runs and had 5 RBI at US Cellular
Field where the Phx Coyotes beat the Hoosier Daddy in 12 innings 17 to
13.

The score was knotted at 12 after nine innings. Phx won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning. The key offensive moment was provided by Votto,
who deflated the crowd as he smashed a two-run homer (his 35th of the
season). Phx provided plenty of action in the 1st inning when they had 6
runs on 3 hits, the 7th inning plating 4 runs and the 12th inning with 4 runs
on 3 hits. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.

Carlos Marmol(7-4) went 5 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Brandon
Lyon(5-5) absorbed the loss in relief. He served up 3 gopher balls in 4 and
1/3 innings.

Greg Swindell grabs 20th win in 13-5 blowout of Blasters

Ken Griffey Jr. slammed 3 home runs and had 7 RBI as the Bedrock Bricks
outscored the Bettendorf Blasters 13 to 5.

Griffey Jr. was unconscious all day. The Bettendorf fans hated to see him
approaching the batter’s box as he just kept delivering base hits! He belted
a three-run homer in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 7th
inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 49th of the season) in the 9th inning.
Bedrock kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6
different innings.

The winning pitcher was Greg Swindell(20-11) who allowed 5 runs in 8 innings.
Mark Gubicza(0-1) ended up with the loss. Griffey Jr. said, ‘It was just all
timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You’ve got to take
advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a
little bit – right in my zone.’

2007 Season

Matt Holliday hits 2 home runs in 6-3 victory over habernashers

Matt Holliday cracked 2 home runs and had 3 RBI as the Remember The Alamo
defeated the hammy habernashers 6 to 3 at PNC Park

Holliday had a big day against hammy. He ripped a solo home run in the 3rd
inning, doubled in the 6th inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run (his 26th of the season) in the 7th inning and ripped a base-knock
in the 9th inning. Remember had 12 hits for the game and hammy had 8.

The winning pitcher was Brad Penny(14-9) who allowed 2 runs in 7 and 1/3
innings. Billy Wagner recorded the save, his 14th. Josh Beckett(15-10)
suffered the loss.

‘I didn’t feel that good when I came to the park today,’ Holliday said. ‘I’m
glad I decided to play!’

hits. Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Edmonton could not get the win.

Jimmy Dygert(11-11) allowed 3 runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
The losing pitcher was Fred Norman(7-11). He served up 3 gopher balls in 1
and 1/3 innings.

2010 Season

Stephen Strasburg strikes out 14 batters, beats CongressMen 2-0

Stephen Strasburg racked up an impressive total of 14 strikeouts and Shin-Soo
Choo lofted one into the ‘cheap seats’ and had 2 RBI at Petco Park where
the Sugar Lumps beat the Washington CongressMen by the score of 2 to
0.

Strasburg(10-7) came through with a virtuoso performance against the
Washington hitters. He allowed only 5 hits and no walks in 8 and 1/3
innings. Overall Sugar out-hit Washington 9 to 5.

Strasburg got help from Andrew Bailey who was credited with his 29th save.
Anibal Sanchez(10-14) ended up with the loss. Strasburg was pleased with his
performance. He noted, ‘I had good command of all my pitches. Just as
important, my location was right on.’

Mike Stanley homers twice in 6-5 loss to Strat Player

Gary Sheffield hit a homerun as the First Time Strat Player defeated the Back
to the Basics by the score of 6 to 5 at The Skydome

First Time tallied 3 runs in the 5th inning with the help of 4 hits. The
highlight belonged to Ron Karkovice, who silenced the stadium when he doubled
which was good for two runs. First Time out-hit Back to the for the game, 10
hits to 7.

Bob Tewksbury(14-9) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Jim Gott
earned the save, his 3rd. Orel Hershiser(12-11) was the loser. He got hit
pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

2007 Season

Aaron Rowand homers twice in 9-5 loss to Patriots

At US Cellular Field the Quebec Patriots easily handled the BOSTON BEES by
the score of 9 to 5.

Quebec took the lead for good in the 7th inning scoring a single run utilizing
2 base hits. Offensively, Quebec was a juggernaut. They scored in 6
separate innings.

Daisuke Matsuzaka(9-15) allowed 5 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the
victory. Francisco Cordero recorded the save, his 11th. Brian
Bannister(10-10) was the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Manny Ramirez ripped 2 home runs and Jose Deleon pitched a 2 hitter as the Helz
Angels outscored the Unwashed Rabble 6 to 1.

Unwashed was unable to claim the lead after Helz went ahead in the 2nd inning
plating a single run using 2 hits. Helz rapped out 11 hits for the
afternoon.

The victory went to Deleon(2-2) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Ken
Hill(8-10) was the losing pitcher. He served up 3 gopher balls in 8 innings.

Deleon was pleased with his performance. He noted, ‘I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too – that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.’

2007 Season

Elijah Dukes blasts 2 home runs in 10-9 loss to habernashers

Chase Utley left the yard and had 3 RBI as the hammy habernashers defeated the
inept Blazing Saddles 10 to 9 at PNC Park

Pat Neshek(6-2) came on to close the door tight in relief. He gave up just 1
hit and no walks in 2 and 2/3 innings. Blazing threatened in the 9th but
hammy was able to put down the rally.

Neshek got help from J.J. Putz who earned his 42nd save. Chad Cordero(0-1)
was charged with the loss in relief. He was unable to retire a batter giving
up 3 hits and no walks.

Magrane(6-3) took the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in

Kevin A was impressed with Johnson and his 13 strikeouts. ‘It’s tough to
generate runs if you can’t make contact with the ball.’

2010 Season

Jason Kubel launches 3 home runs in 11-6 victory over Shockers

Jason Kubel cracked 3 home runs and had 5 RBI at Comerica Park where the
Midland Chippewas beat the Urban Shockers 11 to 6.

Kubel was spectacular at the plate. The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat. He lofted a
three-run bomb in the 3rd inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the
5th inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 16th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Urban had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The victory was credited to Justin Verlander(8-10) who went 8 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Tommy Hanson(6-14) was the loser. He was knocked around by
Midland, allowing 6 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.

‘This was a tough loss,’ said Urban Shocker, ‘the kind that sticks with you
for awhile.’

Kevin Brown fires shutout in 3-0 Roundhousers win

Left fielder Luis Gonzalez had 2 base hits and Kevin Brown tossed a complete
game shutout at Candlestick Park as the Rigaud Roundhousers beat the
reeling Triad Steamrollers by the count of 3 to 0.

Brown(11-5) was in control of the game from the outset. He didn’t allow much,
just 7 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.83 to 4.60.
Rigaud finished with just 5 hits in the victory.

Charlie Hough(4-9) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 4 hits in
5 innings.

2007 Season

Gil Meche notches 15th win in 7-3 victory over Saddles

The Carlisle Crusaders toppled the Blazing Saddles bY A 7 to 3 score at Coors
Field

Gil Meche(15-6) earned his pay with a solid performance for Carlisle. He went
7 and 1/3 innings surrendering 6 hits and 3 walks. Carlisle finished with 12
hits while Blazing ended up with 7.

Tim Byrdak earned the save, his 4th. Jeff Francis(6-6) was hit with the loss.
He was knocked around by Carlisle, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3
innings.

Adam Everett steals 4 bases in 5-3 loss to Winning Winners

Alex Rodriguez blasted 2 home runs and scored 4 times at Miller Park as the
Charlie’s Winning Winners beat the Killer’s Swan Song in 13 innings 5 to
3.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Charlie’s came out the victor in the 13th
inning. Rodriguez led off the inning for Charlie’s when he drew a walk.
After an out was recorded, Nick Swisher stepped up to the plate and he bombed
a two-run dinger (his 36th of the season) giving Charlie’s the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd. For the game Charlie’s out-hit Killer’s
13 to 6.

Joel Zumaya(7-2) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Ryan Perry(2-6)
was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 1 hit
and 2 walks.

Pedro Martinez struck out 12 batters as the Halles Heroes 4 outscored the
Gateway el birdos 7 to 3.

Martinez(29-10) gave Halles a solid outing. He didn’t allow much, just 5 hits
and no walks in 9 innings and surrendered 2 home runs. Halles totaled 7 hits
on the afternoon.

The losing pitcher was Sid Fernandez(12-10). Everyone seemed to enjoy the
performance of Martinez – except Gateway. Rob Walters lamented, ‘He just was
‘on’ this afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine
game by a good strikeout pitcher – makes it a fun game for the hometown fans
– unfortunately we were the visitors!’

J. Saltalamacchia had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Blazing Saddles defeated the Bye
For Now 7 in 10 innings by the score of 14 to 13 at Coors Field

The score was tied at 13 after nine. Blazing finally pulled the game out in
the 10th inning. Andre Ethier drew a walk. Ryan Church came to the plate
and doubled. Saltalamacchia then slapped a base-hit giving Blazing the
victory as 19,832 happy fans celebrated wildly. This was the kind of game
that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.

The win was credited to Rudy Seanez(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Lenny Dinardo(3-4) ended up with the loss in relief.

Ryan Raburn smashed 2 home runs and had 6 RBI in a losing cause for Bye.
