Baylor had a big day at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty ‘big-fly’ in the
7th inning and lofted a three-run ‘big-fly’ (his 21st of the season) in the
8th inning. Chicago had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
Juan Marichal(20-15) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Marichal was
helped out by Bill Campbell who recorded his 10th save. Calvin
Schiraldi(2-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.

Chacin(15-4) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn’t allow much,
just 8 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Bloody banged out 10 hits on the
Roy Oswalt(18-14) suffered the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 9 hits in 8 and
1/3 innings. ‘He was really impressive today,’ Oswalt said of his
counterpart. ‘Our guys were just swinging at air.’

Catcher Tony Pena hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Unwashed Rabble
defeated the Tiffin Griffins 4 to 3 at Camden Yards
Unwashed took the lead off Pete Schourek in the first inning when they scored
2 runs on 2 hits. The big moment was provided by Vinny Castilla, who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he smashed a two-run homer
(his 34th of the season). Tiffin made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.
Terry Mulholland(11-8) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.

lofted a solo-blast ‘downtown’ (his 28th of the season) in the 8th inning.
Hudson lit up the scoreboard in the 5th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on
5 hits and the 6th inning with 6 runs on 4 hits. Hudson ended up with 16
hits for the game while Myrtle Beach had 5.
Chuck Finley(15-10) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 and 1/3
innings. Greg Hansell(3-2) took the loss in relief.
