Neftali Feliz gained credit for his 45th save. The loss was charged to Mark
Buehrle(10-10). He was knocked around by Midland, allowing 11 hits and 2
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
Not Dusty Baker was asked about the performance of Carpenter, ‘He had his good
stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really get into it when the
strikeouts start mounting up – and that seems to give him even more

Jeff Francis(1-2). Shields was obviously very pleased with his performance
in the aftermath of the game, ‘It was just one of those games where
everything worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched another two
or three innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time out!’
