Oklahoma Outlaws in 10 innings by the score of 14 to 12 at Forbes Field
The game was deadlocked at 11 after nine full innings. Ida’s finally pulled
the game out in the 10th inning. Donie Bush led off the inning for Ida’s
when he drew a walk. Bush was running on the next pitch and he stole second.
Ida’s continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Mickey
O’Neil stepped in and he doubled plating a run. Walling stepped into the box
and doubled scoring another run. Ralph Kiner kept the inning going and lined
a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Although they lost,
Oklahoma did out-hit Ida’s 20 to 15.
Ben Tincup(4-1) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Dick
Radatz(2-1) ended up with the loss in relief. Ida’s scored big getting 5
runs off him in 3 innings.
Left fielder Jason Kubel rocketed 3 home runs and had 6 RBI as the Troubled
Souls defeated the Bad Sneakers by the score of 6 to 5 at Fenway Park
Kubel had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move.
He clubbed a three-run home run in the 1st inning, smashed a solo-shot out
of the park in the 4th inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 6th inning
and lofted a solo-blast ‘downtown’ (his 19th of the season) in the 8th
inning. Troubled totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.
Craig Breslow(1-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Doug Fister(2-8) ended up with the loss. He was touched for
3 homeruns in his 7 and 2/3 innings of work.
‘I had good swings today,’ Kubel said, ‘Everything felt right’.

Jaime Navarro pitched a 3 hit shutout at The Astrodome where the D-Town
Dogpound beat the Waco Me Ups by the score of 6 to 0.
Navarro(24-7) dominated Waco hitters. He didn’t give up much, just 3 hits and
3 walks in 9 innings. D-Town had 8 hits for the afternoon.
Frank Viola(16-11) was charged with the loss. He pitched 9 innings allowing 8
hits and 6 walks.
Third baseman Alex Rodriguez slammed 2 home runs and had 3 RBI as the Blazing
Saddles defeated the inept Lecherous Schwarzeneggers 12 to 8 at Coors Field
Rodriguez had a good day at the plate. He laced a one-base hit in the 4th
inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 5th inning and lofted a
solo-blast ‘downtown’ (his 14th of the season) in the 7th inning. Blazing
had a total of 15 hits for the game.
Jon Garland(3-3) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 6 runs for the win. Garland
got relief help from Jason Isringhausen who gained credit for his 10th save.
Jake Peavy(2-6) suffered the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 7
runs in 4 innings.
