Sutton(6-13) was hit with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13 hits
and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
History was made in ACME Building & as Derek Holland(8-6) tossed a no-hitter
and the Osama’s Mommas defeated the ACME Building & Wrecking Co Inc by the
score of 4 to 0.
Holland had an afternoon to remember. He walked 2 ACME Building & batters.
The Osama’s players and coaches started to leave Holland alone with his
thoughts after the game reached the 7th inning. By the time the 9th inning
rolled around, you could hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up –

Murray provided much of the offense. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st
inning and blasted a solo shot (his 17th of the season) in the 6th inning.
Halles totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.
For Martinez(20-5) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Denny Neagle(8-10) was
charged with the loss. Martinez was pleased with his performance. He noted,
‘I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on.
The fans really got into the game too – that always helps me. Now, if I can
only do that again in my next outing.’
Andruw Jones ripped 2 home runs and had 4 RBI as the Brooklyn Bats defeated the
Dallas Matrix by a score of 5 to 2 at Busch Stadium
Jones enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He belted a three-run homer in the 2nd
inning, banged out a single in the 4th inning, hit a one-base hit in the 6th
inning and blasted a solo shot (his 6th of the season) in the 8th inning.
Brooklyn ended up with 11 hits for the game while Dallas had 6.
Greg Maddux(4-4) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. C.J.
Wilson gained credit for his 3rd save. John Maine(2-2) was the losing
pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks
in 6 innings.
‘They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,’ Jones said ‘next
time I’m sure they’ll pitch me tougher.’
