Mike Simms blasts 3 home runs in 13-7 victory over Homecoming I

Mike Simms blasted 3 home runs and Joey Hamilton was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the indomitable Detroit
Dragons defeated the Nashua Homecoming I by a score of 13 to 7 at Coors Field

It seemed that Nashua pitching was serving up softballs for Simms to hit. He
rifled a three-run blast in the 1st inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in
the 4th inning and lofted a solo-blast ‘downtown’ (his 46th of the season) in
the 7th inning. Nashua scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky
pitching kept them from victory.

The win went to Hamilton(22-9) who allowed 7 runs in the game. Mike
Hampton(7-9) was given the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 7 hits and 3
walks in 3 innings.

‘I had a big day, but there’s a lot of credit to go around’ Simms said. ‘We
played well together as a team.’

Brandon Webb fires shutout in 6-0 The Alamo win

Brandon Webb racked up an impressive total of 14 strikeouts as the Remember
The Alamo outscored the Brooklyn Bats 6 to 0.

Webb(4-1) was virtually untouchable. He surrendered only 5 hits and 2 walks
in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 1.27. Remember rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon.

Roy Oswalt(1-3) was hit with the loss. Webb was humble when questioned about
his performance, ‘Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon.
But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That
was an extremely well called game!’
