clobbered the outmatched Philadelphia Stars, 14 to 4.
Kiner provided much of the offense. He smashed a bases-empty ‘big-fly’ in the
2nd inning, belted a three-run homer in the 3rd inning, lashed a single in
the 5th inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 6th inning and rifled a
three-run blast (his 45th of the season) in the 7th inning. BALCO kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
The victory went to Knepper(5-9) who went the distance allowing 4 runs. Ted
Higuera(10-12) took the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks
in 5 innings.
‘I’ve spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they’ve
paid off,’ Kiner said. ‘I just take the same approach up there. I don’t
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on

Cymbal Clapping Monkeys by a score of 7 to 4 at Yankee Stadium
Cymbal Clapping never recovered after London took the lead in the 3rd inning
when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Justin Morneau, who thrilled the crowd when he doubled plating two runs.
London had 13 hits for the game and Cymbal Clapping had 6.
Tim Hudson(20-10) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Johnny Cueto(9-12) ended up with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5
innings of work.

Left fielder Kirk Gibson jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the
Grayhawk Talons defeated the Blackmail Men by a score of 10 to 4 at
Mark Petkovsek(1-0) had a solid outing for Grayhawk. He allowed 8 hits and 2
walks in 7 innings. Grayhawk finished with 11 hits in the victory.
Tom Glavine(12-12) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 6 runs and 4 hits in 1
and 2/3 innings.
Catcher Mike Lieberthal hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Shukokai Shelleys
won in dramatic fashion over the Thundering Herd by a score of 7 to 6 at Shea
Shukokai won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs
using 4 hits. Carlos Beltran led off and keyed the rally when he doubled.
Marlon Anderson followed and he stroked a one-base hit resulting in a run.
Pokey Reese then laced a base-hit. Reese took off for second and slid in
with a stolen base. Alex Ochoa stepped into the box and would hit into a
fielders choice plating another run. Omar Vizquel contributed to the rally
and lined a base-hit giving Shukokai the victory and sending the 26,253
home-town fans home happy. Shukokai ended up with 14 hits for the game while
Thundering had 11.
Rick Aguilera(9-2) allowed 2 runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Antonio Alfonseca(8-13) took the loss in relief. He gave up 3 runs and 4
hits in 2/3 of an inning.
