Greg Maddux completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Buffalo
Blues defeated the Balco Bombers by a score of 6 to 4 at Forbes Field

Buffalo won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 3 runs using 5 hits.
Larry Gardner got things going when he laced a base-hit. Pop Lloyd stepped
into the batter’s box and he doubled. Biz Mackey then ripped a base-knock
scoring two baserunners. After an out was recorded, Mackey was safe on a
stolen base. Buffalo continued their aggressive style with another stolen
base. John Tamargo joined his teammates in the uprising and laced a
base-knock scoring the final run of the inning. Buffalo managed 11 hits in
their victory.

The victory was credited to Maddux(25-10) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. George Suggs(10-9) was the loser in relief.

2010 Season

Juan Pierre steals 4 bases in 12-1 blowout of Twins

Adrian Gonzalez touched them all and had 2 RBI as the Orlando Hurricanes
crushed the Inland Empire Twins 12 to 1.

Justin Verlander(13-6) had a solid outing for Orlando. He surrendered 7 hits
and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. Orlando had 17 hits overall, while Inland
Empire had 8.

Brett Myers(8-10) was hit with the loss. The Orlando ballclub’s record now
stands at 43-34. Inland Empire has a record of 38-39 after the loss.

Barry Bonds homers twice in 8-5 victory over Bombers

Left fielder Barry Bonds smashed 2 home runs at Anaheim Stadium as the
C-Town Invaders beat the Roid Bombers 8 to 5.

Bonds provided much of the offense. He launched a Grand Slam homerun in the
3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty ‘big-fly’ (his 57th of the season) in
the 6th inning. C-Town rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Scott Erickson(19-10) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 4 runs. Steve Reed gained credit for his 4th save. The losing
pitcher was Randy Tomlin(2-4). He was not very effective, surrendering 5
runs in 2 innings.
