Kiner was really ‘in the zone’. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning
and rifled a three-run blast (his 37th of the season) in the 7th inning.
BALCO had 10 hits for the afternoon.
Galvin(12-6) allowed 2 runs on the game. Nolan Ryan(10-11) ended up with the
loss. BALCO scored big getting 6 runs off him in 5 and 2/3 innings.
With this win, BALCO has a division leading 50-39 record. They have been 6-4
lately. With this loss, Pawtucket has a 7-3 record of late, 47-42 overall.
Roy Halladay whiffed 14 batters as the New York Highlanders defeated the
N.Glengarry Buttercups by a score of 3 to 1 at Yankee Stadium
Halladay(10-12) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on
the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. The pitchers took
over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.
Billy Wagner got the save, his 27th. Tim Hudson(10-14) was hit with the loss.
Halladay didn’t realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he
had 14 he was obviously surprised, ‘No kidding? Man, I knew that I had decent
total, but I didn’t think I had K’d that many. Say, that’s pretty good,

Rafael Palmeiro blasted 2 home runs and had 4 RBI as the St Pete Rockets beat
the Zion Operators by a score of 9 to 6.
Palmeiro had a big day at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the 3rd
inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 25th of the
season) in the 7th inning. This was the kind of game that many fans love as
the lead changed hands 5 times.
The win went to Jose Bautista(8-3) who allowed 6 runs in 6 innings. Bautista
got help from Trevor Hoffman who was credited with his 8th save. Jay
Howell(5-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He gave up 4 runs in 3

Kevin Millwood racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts and catcher
Charles Johnson blasted a homerun and had 5 RBI at Coors Field as the RDA
Clippers embarrassed the Thundering Herd by the lopsided score of 16 to

Millwood(15-9) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. Kris
Benson(8-7) was the loser. He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs in 2
and 2/3 innings.
Millwood was humble when questioned about his performance, ‘Well, I felt
pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support
