Phenomenah defeated the Erie Seawolves 7 to 1 at Rogers Centre

9 innings. Goose Lake had 13 hits for the afternoon.
Clayton Richard(12-16) was charged with the loss. Dempster, when asked about
his 14 strikeout performance noted, ‘The important thing is that we won, if I
get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand,
since we won it feels great!’
Back to the ’90s
Joe Girardi hit for the cycle and had 3 RBI and Dennis Rasmussen went the
distance as the Nashua Homecoming I were badly beaten by the ACME Blasting
Powder Company, 16 to 4.
Girardi had a good day at the plate. He ripped a solo home run (his 2nd of
the season) in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 4th inning, laced a single
plating two runs in the 5th inning and tripled in the 6th inning. ACME
Blasting lit up the scoreboard in the 5th inning with 8 runs on 8 hits. ACME
Blasting had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate
Rasmussen(5-2) allowed 4 runs on the game. Tim Leary(6-9) was charged with the
loss. He surrendered 8 runs in 4 innings and saw his ERA increase from 5.14
#sunrise fans certainly got their money’s worth at The Skydome Armando
Reynoso(7-8) pitched a rare no-hitter as the RDA Clippers toppled the
#sunrise hangovers 6 to 0.
Reynoso had his best stuff and was ‘painting the black’ with every pitch. A
beautiful game to watch. He walked 2 #sunrise batters. The RDA players and
coaches started to leave Reynoso alone with his thoughts after the game
reached the 7th inning. By the time the 9th inning rolled around, you could
hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up – and an explosion after
every out. RDA had 10 hits for the afternoon.
Orlando Hernandez(7-13) was charged with the loss. It took a while to pry
Reynoso way from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation
and joy. Finally, however, Rick Antinori got to offer his own
congratulations with a big bear hug and the comment, ‘That was one of the
best pitched games I have seen in all my years in baseball – Reynoso was
masterful out there this afternoon!’
