Johnny Mize smacked 2 home runs and had 6 RBI as the Dolly Daggers clobbered
the outmatched floundering Blind In Texas, 18 to 5.
Mize provided much of the offense. He lined a base-hit bringing in a run in
the 1st inning, belted a three-run homer in the 5th inning and popped a
two-run clout over the fence (his 30th of the season) in the 6th inning.
Dolly provided plenty of action in the 5th inning which saw them plate 7 runs
on 7 hits and the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. Dolly out-hit
Blind In for the game, 23 hits to 8.
Rube Waddell(5-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing
4 runs. Leroy Matlock(2-4) was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 3
homeruns in his 4 innings of work.
Longoria enjoyed a big day at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the
1st inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 3rd inning, popped a two-run clout
over the fence in the 7th inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 13th of
the season) in the 9th inning. The Missoula offense poured it on, scoring in
7 of the 9 innings.
Anderson(6-6) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Matt
Cain(13-11) was charged with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 7 and 1/3
innings of work.
‘Longoria led the way – we just jumped on his back and let him take us,’
Anderson said. ‘I’m glad I don’t have to face him. I’m glad he’s on my team.’

Left fielder Glenallen Hill rocketed 2 home runs and scored 3 times as the
Willowhurst Wild Things defeated the East Wareham Pile Drivers 8 to 4 at

slapped a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, blasted a solo shot in the 5th
inning and ripped a solo home run (his 9th of the season) in the 6th inning.
Willowhurst rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.
Tom Candiotti(2-1) allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Candiotti got help from Jeff Russell who was credited with his 1st
save. Joe Hesketh(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 8 hits and 4
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
At Kauffman Stadium the Carlisle Roidragers 3 outscored the RDA Clippers 6
Brad Radke(10-5) delivered a fine performance for Carlisle. He went 8 and 1/3
innings allowing 7 hits and 5 walks and gave up 2 home runs. Carlisle banged
out 9 hits on the afternoon.
Doug Jones recorded his 15th save. Chuck Finley(5-7) was hit with the loss.
He allowed 9 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings.
