Bikini Bottom never recovered after Deltona took the lead in the top of the
4th inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Jason Castro slapped
a base-hit. Andres Blanco was next to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice
bunt. After another out, Reggie Willits stepped up to the plate and he
singled, and an error was also committed, scoring the run. Deltona had a
total of 10 hits for the game.

The winning pitcher was Oswalt(20-11) who allowed 1 run for the game. Bronson
Arroyo(9-15) absorbed the loss. ‘Oswalt gave us exactly what we needed
tonight,’ Shrek said. ‘When he threw the fastball he threw it for strikes.
They were really fooled by his change. Most of the time he had them chasing
it.’

Danny Jackson notches 25th win in 12-5 victory over Pile Drivers

Ken Griffey Jr. lofted one into the ‘cheap seats’ and had 2 RBI as the Utica
Shale outscored the East Wareham Pile Drivers 12 to 5.

Utica came up with 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning with the help of 5
hits. The big moment was provided by Dave Justice, who made the home-town
crowd a happy bunch when he lofted a three-run ‘big-fly’ (his 39th of the
season). Utica had 12 hits for the game and East Wareham had 7.

The victory was credited to Danny Jackson(25-9) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 5 runs. Eric Plunk got the save, his 3rd. Scott Radinsky(3-3) was
hit with the loss in relief.

1999 Season

Lee Stevens blasts 2 home runs in 16-11 loss to Reds

Vinny Castilla rocketed 2 home runs and had 4 RBI as the Quebec Reds defeated
the Kia Soul Hamsters 16 to 11 at Kauffman Stadium

Castilla had a good day at the plate. He belted a three-run homer in the 2nd
inning and lofted a solo-blast ‘downtown’ (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th
inning. Quebec provided plenty of action in the 4th inning with 4 runs on 4
hits and the 7th inning when they had 5 runs on 3 hits. Despite scoring in 5
separate innings, Kia Soul could not get the win.

The win went to Stan Belinda(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 3 innings. Randy
Johnson(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Quebec 10 runs in 4 innings
of work.
