Goose Goslin blasts 3 home runs in 12-11 victory over Storm

Goose Goslin blasted 3 home runs and had 6 RBI at Three Rivers Stdm where
the Boston Massacre beat the Edmonton Storm by the score of 12 to 11.

Goslin provided much of the offense. He smashed a bases-empty ‘big-fly’ in
the 2nd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning, rifled a three-run
blast (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning and doubled in the 8th
inning. Boston lit up the scoreboard in the 6th inning with 5 runs on 6
hits. Edmonton threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Mel Stottlemyre(2-2) got the win allowing 8 runs in 5 innings. Jeff Nelson
earned the save, his 1st. Orval Grove(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He was
knocked around by Boston, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

‘It was a tough one to lose’ said Edmonton ‘We’ll get them next time out.’

2010 Season

Clayton Kershaw grabs 20th win in 2-1 victory over Flyers III

Shortstop Alex Gonzalez had 2 base hits and Clayton Kershaw allowed Kaina
Kauahi to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Petco Park where
the Kaua’i Cane Fire beat the Fitchburg Flyers III 2 to 1.

Kaua’i scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Nick Swisher banged out a single. Rod Barajas struck out, unable
to help the rally. Gonzalez then doubled scoring the run. Kaua’i rapped out
9 hits for the afternoon.

Kershaw(20-15) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Roy
Oswalt(14-17) was hit with the loss. With this win, Kaua’i has a 76-71
record. They have been 4-6 lately. Even with the loss, Fitchburg still has
a nice 8-2 record in recent weeks. They are 77-70 on the season.

Kevin Brown grabs 20th win in 2-1 victory over Times 29

Kevin Brown hurled a 1 hitter at The Astrodome as the big mac attack beat
the hopeless Hard Times 29 in 11 innings 2 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine. big mac was victorious in the 11th
inning. Bret Boone drew a walk. Gary Sheffield was next and he was hit by a
pitch. Eddie Perez then reached on an error making big mac the victors to
the delight of the home town faithful. big mac had just 6 hits for the
afternoon.

Brown(20-5) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Armando
Benitez(3-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and no hits
in 1/3 of an inning.
