had 8, but Carter’s had the more timely hits.

Designated hitter Kevin Maas had 2 base hits and Roger Clemens struck out 10
batters as the Big Whiskey Pig Farmers outscored the Twin City Twinkies in 10
innings 3 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Big Whiskey was
victorious in the 10th inning. After two outs Gerald Williams ripped a
base-knock. Ryne Sandberg stepped into the batter’s box and he stroked a
single. Maas then laced a base-knock making Big Whiskey victorious to the
delight of the the home town crowd. Big Whiskey rapped out 9 hits for the
Clemens(29-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. John
Smoltz(12-23) was the loser. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of
Clemens – except Twin City. Rocky Bridges lamented, ‘He just was ‘on’ this
afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a
good strikeout pitcher – makes it a fun game for the hometown fans –
unfortunately we were the visitors!’
