the 2nd inning, laced a base-hit in the 4th inning, smashed a bases-empty
‘big-fly’ in the 7th inning and cracked a solo homerun (his 14th of the
season) in the 8th inning. Peezo totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.

Bill Doak(10-15) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 7
runs. Gene Nelson was credited with his 25th save. Orval Grove(12-17) took
the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.

‘I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.’ Doak said. ‘I was lucky I got a win because I couldn’t put the
ball where I wanted it.’
